AGENDA: PREPARING YOUR COLONIES FOR WINTER

As winter fast approaches, you should have done your final extractions for the season and packing down your hives for the cold days and nights ahead. This month we will be demonstrating in more detail the things you need to do to ensure your bees survive the winter season ahead.

Illawarra Beekeepers Open Day combined with the Heritage Festival this year, the vintage bus ride was a fun way to get around Sutherland and take part in the other exhibits  READ MORE CLICK ICON ABOVE

Recently, major upgrades were carried out to power in our facility and the surrounding area including Waratah Park. During this time, we were without electricity whilst the work was carried out. A letter of thanks has been sent from our Club Secretary, Geoff Henning to Sutherland Shire Council for assisting us during this period. Read more by clicking the icon above.

We have places available for our upcoming Beekeeping for Beginners Courses. To find out more, click the icon above.

The beekeepers shop is now again open each Thursday morning from 9AM to 12PM, at our monthly Thursday night meetings and Sunday field days approx. 30 minutes before the meetings commence. 

We need your help. Volunteers are needed for gardening duties 9am to 11am Thursdays and for our upcoming Open Day on 17 April 2017. So if you can help, contact Penny or email us by clicking the icon above.
